Snake Gourd Poriyal / Pudalangai Poriyal

Snake Gourd Poriyal is is a simple south Indian side dish. Also good for health. Its contain lot of fibers which can help maintain your digestive region healthy and low in calories.
Pudalangai Poriyal

Ingredients :


  1. Snake Gourd/ Pudalangai                 - 2 
  2. Onion                                            - 2 (Finely chopped)
  3. Green chilly                                    -2 (Finely chopped)
  4. Bengal gram / Kadalai Paruppu         - 2 tsp ( Soaked in water for 20 mins)
  5. Turmeric Powder                             - 1/2 tsp
  6. Water                                             
  7. Salt to taste

For Tempering :


  1. Oil                                 - 2 tsp
  2. Mustard Seeds                 - 1 tsp 
  3. Fennel Seeds                    - 1tsp
  4. Few curry Leaves

Method:
Take the ingredients 

For Tempering

Heat oil in pan, add mustard seeds, when  it is splutters, add fennel seeds and curry leaves 

Add Bengal gram fry it for 1 min

Add Chopped onion fry it  for 2mins

Add Turmeric powder

Add Snake gourd pieces saute it for 2 mins

Add 1/2 glass water , don't add too much , lets boil for 10 - 15 mins. 

Snake Gourd Poriyal is ready to serve
