Chicken Biryani :

Delicious flavorful Biryani perfect blended of mild spices....
Delicious Chicken Biryani

Ingredients :


  1. Chicken                        -1 1/2 kg
  2. Rice                             - 500 10 700 g
  3. Onion                           - 2 finely chopped
  4. Tomatoes                      - 3 to 4 finely chopped 
  5. Green chilly paste - 3 tsp or Green chilly - 4 to 6
  6. Coriander Leaves          - 1/2 cup
  7. Mint Leaves                 - 1/2 cup
  8. Yogurt / Curd               - 1/2 cup 
  9. Ginger garlic paste         - 2 to 3 tsp
  10. Biryani masala pwdr         - 1tsp
  11. Bay leaf                        - 2 
  12. Star anise                       - 1
  13. Cinnamon                      - 1 or 2
  14. Cardamom                     - 2 
  15. Kalpasi                          - 1 tsp
  16. Oil                                - 4 to 5 tsp 
  17. Ghee                             - 1 tsp
  18. Salt to taste

Rice Measurement :

  1. Normal Rice - 1 cup                                                                                                                 Soak the rice for 15 - 20 min add 1 1/2 cup f water for 1 cup of Rice.
     2. Seeraga Samba Rice - 1 cup
         Soak the rice for 5 min , add 1 3/4 cup of water for 1 cup of rice.
   
     3. Basmati Rice - 1 cup
         Soak the rice for 15 min, add 1.5 cups of water for 1 cup of rice.

Method :
Take all the ingredients

Soak the rice 25 to min

Heat oil and ghee in cooker add cinnamon,cloves, bay leaf, cardamom, star anise, fry till nice aroma comes from the whole spices

Add ginger garlic and chilly paste fry it for 1min

Add onion fry till turns golden brown in colour

Add tomatoes saute it for 3min

Add  mint and coriander leaves saute it well

Add 1 sp biryani masala powder

Take a bowl marinate the chicken with 3tsp curd, chilli powder 1tsp, turmeric 1/2tsp and some salt , keep aside for 30min..now add the chicken

Add remaining mint and coriander leaves 

Mix well and saute it for 10 min

Now add the soaked rice to the cooker

Add 1 1/2 cup water for 1 cup rice

Pressure cook the biryani for 1 whistle

Open the lid ,mix it gently

Chicken biryani is done
