Sliced Egg masala / Egg thokku recipe :

Spicy and tasty egg masala .......

Sliced Egg masala / Egg thokku recipe
Cooking Time : 20 mins

Ingredients :

  1. Boiled egg - 5 
  2. Onion - 1 big 
  3. Tomato - 2
  4. Green chilly - 2
  5. Red chilly powder - 1/2 tbsp
  6. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  7. Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  8. Pepper powder  - 1/2  tsp
  9. Few coriander leaves
  10. Salt to taste

To Temper :

  1. Oil - 2 tbsp
  2. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  3. Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
  4. Few curry leaves

Method :

  1. Boil egg for few min .Break open and remove the shell and cut into slices.set aside.
  2. In a blender, add 2 tomatoes and make a puree and set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds once its splutter add urad dal and curry leaves.
  4. Now add the chopped onions, saute it till turn brown.
  5. Then add the tomato puree, saute well till the raw smell goes.
  6. Then add the all spice powders one by one, fry for 2 mins.
  7. Add 1/2 cup of water and salt and cover with lid for 5 - 7 mins.
  8. Add the sliced eggs into the gravy and mix well.cook for another 5 mins.
  9. Check the salt and spice levels and the consistency of the curry.
  10. Adjust them to taste and add water if you want the consistency of the curry to be thinner. Once done, stir in the chopped coriander leaves and serve.
  11. Serve the Egg Curry along with hot steamed rice.
